› Basic use and testing of self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
› Basic rescue techniques both individually and team member wearing SCBA.
› Confined space entry hazards.
› Confined space entry controls.
› Similarities and differences between SCBA and supplied Air breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
› Responsibilities of attendants and entrants for confined space entry.
› Responsibilities of supervisors for confined space entry.
› Factors in formulating confined space entry rescue plan.
Objectives:
› Pre and post usage,inspection and testing of SCBA.
› Ability to confidently wear SCBA during routine operations.
› Ability to confidently wear SCBA during non-routine activities (working at height and darkness)
› Ability to carry out a basic simulated single handed rescue of a co-worker.
› Ability as a member of a team to carry out a basic rescue of a co-worker while wearing SCBA in a simulated oparational environment.
› Basic key factors in formulation of confine space rescue plan.
› As a team member participate in planning and executing a confined space entry in a simulated operational environment.
